Former Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram advises to make Sarfraz as ODI captain in place of Azhar Ali. He says Pakistan might only score 125 in case Sarfraz could not make century.
According to sources, Azhar’s captaincy is in danger and there are thoughts about giving captaincy to Sarfraz Ahmed. Only victory against England in the series can save the captaincy of Azhar Ali.
Successful test batsman Azhar Ali was given the leadership of ODI cricket after retirement of Misbah ul Haq. During his first series, Pakistan lost to Bangladesh 0-3.
Then he won series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka but later he lost the series against England and New Zealand and now there is a question mark on his captaincy. As a captain, Azhar scored 2 hundreds against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh out of total 22 matches.
According to sources, series defeat against England can result in replacement of the captain and the first choice is Sarfraz Ahmed. Cricket experts showed anger on openers after defeat in 2nd ODI while Sikander Bakht also criticized M Hafeez.
