Indian captain Virat Kohli has demanded from his board that A grade cricketers should be given 5 crore rupees annually. Kohli said that Indian players get less salary as compared to players of other countries. A grade cricketers should receive minimum 1 crore annually while BCCI recently increased the pay of players according to which A grade cricketers will be given 2 crore rupees.
According to sources, he gave example of players of England, Australia and South Africa who receive 10 to 12 crore rupees annually. In this matter, he is supported by coach Anil Kumble.
On the other hand, Ravi Shastri also declared the 2 crore pay of cricketers as very low.
