ICC has released few statistics of finals of Champions trophy after Pakistan’s victory against India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
Hassan Ali becomes the 3rd Pakistani bowler to take 3 wickets in 4 matches of ICC event. Previously, it has been achieved by Imran Khan (WC 1987) and Shahid Afridi (WC 2011). Hassan Ali has also leveled the record of most wickets by taking 13 wickets while it has also been done by Jerome Taylor in 2006.
On the other hand, Shadab Khan becomes the youngest player to participate in Champions Trophy final. Interestingly, he took the wicket of former youngest player Yuvraj Singh in the final match. Only Pakistani team provided chance young players to debut in Champions Trophy as three players debuted for the champion team. On 18th June, Pakistan’s 180 runs victory against India was the highest in ODI.
Fakhar Zaman becomes the 3rd batsman to score his maiden century in a final of an ICC event. Before that, it has been done by Clive Lloyd and Philo Wallace. Both these batsmen could not score any hundred after this inning.
9 sixes by Pakistani team in the ICC Champions trophy final are the highest by any team in the final. Pakistan’s score of 334 for 4 is the second highest score in the final of ICC events. Previously, Australia scored 359 for 2 in World Cup 2007. Both these big scores were made against India.
