Setanta Sports is a television network which has been launched in 2006 by Setanta Sports Channel Ireland Limited with the objective to broadcast sports activities airing in and outside the country. This network is available on cable in Ireland. The sister channel, Setanta Sports 1 is also functioning for the development and progress of sports.

The meeting of the chairperson of OneVision and Setanta sports held on May 01, 2009 and they decided to control the operation of the pay DTT service after being negotiated with BCI. Then OneVision made its offer of 23 channels as free to air channels. Setanta Ireland became part of OneVision DTT consortium to hold its ownership which was considered positive for the building of OneVision consortium DTT plans.
