Pakistan is playing the one day international series against Sri Lanka in UAE and both the teams had to play five ODIs in which Pakistan won all one day international matches against Sri Lanka. Pakistan has done the white wash against Sri Lanka. The fifth and last one day international match was played at Sharjah on 23 October 2017, in which Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 9 wickets and completed the white wash against them.
When Sri Lanka started their batting in the first innings of the match, Pakistani new and talented pacer, Usman Khan Shinwari bowled well and he took 5 wickets for 34 runs. His bowling spell proved so much devastating that Sri Lanka lost 5 wickets for just 20 runs and their leading and main batsmen could not perform well. All of the Sri Lankan team was bowled out for 103 runs in just 27 runs and Pakistan got the target in 21 over for the loss of one wicket.

When Pakistan started batting, the openers made 84 runs and Fakhar Zaman was caught out behind the wickets and he scored only 48 runs. Imam ul Haq made 45 runs and he remained not out with Faheem Ashraf, who scored 5 runs. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first which was proved very devastating. When they started their batting, the opening batsman, Samar Vickrama was bowled out without score any run. The next batsman was Chandimal, who also bowled out for no score. Usman Shinwari took these two wickets and he came to the hat trick chance. Sri Lankan another opener, Dickwella also bowled out and he also made no run. The captain of Sri Lankan cricket team, Upul Tharange was bowled out on the ball of Shinwari and he made only 8 runs. The Sri Lankan batsman, Siriwardana also caught out by Fakhar Zaman at the cover position for 6 and the total of the Sri Lankan team was only 20 runs. At this stage, Usman Shinwari took only 5 wickets.

Thirimanne was bowled out by Hassan Ali at the total score of 49 runs, who made only 19 runs. Prassana was run out by Shadab Khan on the total score of 63 runs. He made 16 runs and struggled to improve the position of his team. Thisara Parera struggled to play aggressively but he made only 25 runs and he was also bowled out by Shadab Khan. Vendersay made 2 runs and he was out on the ball of Shadab khan while the last player, Chameera was bowled out on the ball of Hassan Ali and he made 11 runs. The Sri Lankan inning came to end on 103 runs and in response, Pakistan won the match by 9 wickets as Pakistani batsmen got the total score of 104 runs in the 21st over and only one player was out. Usman Shinwari was given the award of ‘Man of the Match’ while Hassan Ali was given the award of ‘Player of the Series’.
