M Hafeez has departed to Australia for ‘career saving’ mission. His illegal bowling action will be tested in a lab in Brisbane on Thursday. He said that he is determined to regain the title of number 1 all rounder with his performance after getting clearance.
According to details, M Hafeez could not clear his biomechanic test in Chennai after report of his bowling action last year. ICC banned him from bowling for 12 months. This period ended in July 2016 but he wasn’t ready for test due to injury problems. During England’s tour, his form and fitness wasn’t good and he returned to country after 1st match. After recovery of his fitness, he wasn’t included in series against West Indies. During this time, M Hafeez got the time to improve his bowling action in National Cricket Academy.
Prior to that, the services of former English coach and biomechanist was also taken for him for few days during English tour. ICC has given the date of 17th November 2016 for test in biomechanic lab in Brisbane for which the all rounder has gone to Australia. Report of the test will be received in 14 days. He said before his departure that he is hopeful after hard work that he will be able to clear is test. He is bowling well despite change in action. PCB Chairman has also said that Hafeez’s return in the team is difficult without clearing of his test.
