During the first test match between England v Pakistan of the two test matches series against England, Pakistani team is still batting and the national team reached to the total of 350 wickets and it got the total lead of 166 runs against England.

When the match of the second day was started, Haris Sohail and Azhar Ali started their innings from 50 runs for loss of 1 wicket. When the score reached to 87 runs, Haris Sohail was got out and he scored 39 runs. Azhar Ali completed his 50 and he was also declared out. Babar Azam and Asad Shafique made the partnership of 82 runs and Asad completed his 59 runs and returned to the pavilion. Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed could not impress by his batting and he was got out on only 9 runs. Babar Azam completed his fifty and when he reached his individual total of 68 runs, he got injured on the ball of Ben Stokes and he was forced to retired hurt as he could not continue his batting.

Faheem Ashraf and Shadab Khan batted well and they developed the partnership of 72 runs. Faheem scored 37 runs while Shadab Khan made 52 runs and both the players were out. When the match was ended on the second day of the Lords test match, Muhammad Amir was remained at the crease with 19 runs and Muhammad Abbas was with him.
