Lahore, Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the Patrons Eleven to play the three days day and night match against West Indies. The PCB appointed Fawad Alam captain of the patrons eleven, who did not play any international match after ICC World T20 and Ahmed Shahzad will also be given the chance to play this match.
According to the details, the day and night test match will be played between Pakistan and West Indies during the UAE tour and it will set new history in test cricket. The first test match of the longest format of cricket will be played in the artificial lights of Dubai from 13 October to 17 October.
Pakistan has conducted few matches with the pink ball in the domestic cricket and the Caribbean eleven did not have any experience to play with the pink ball and they showed their reservations on the night test match. In response to their reservation, PCB scheduled a three days match and the guest team showed their willingness to play it. This three days match will be played at Sharjah from 07 October to 09 October.
The chief selector, Inzamam ul Haq has announced the 13 member squad for the day and night competition and Fawad Alam will be the captain of the team. He is being ignored despite of showing good performance in the domestic cricket. Ahmed Shahzad and Umar Akmal are being dropped from the team after the World T20 Cup on the disciplinary grounds and they were not considered in the national teams.
After saying sorry, Umar akmal isa included in the national team against West Indies in the short format of cricket and he is also the member of the ODI squad. Ahmed Shahzad was still ignored and in the three days match, he will show the performance in this match. There are some other cricketers, who will show their performances in the match and they are Shan Masood, Iftikhar Ahmed, Asif Zakir, Akbar ur Rehman, Imran Khan, Junaid Khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Leg spinner Shahzeb Ahmed and Muhammad Irfan.
