England beat Pakistan in the Leeds test by an inning and 55 runs. Theh second test match of the current series was played at Headingly, Leeds from 01 June to 05 June 2018 but the match was decided on the third day. Pakistani batting line was flopped in this test match and it failed to give good target to the opponent team. When Pakistan started the second inning after going into loss of 189 runs, it failed to overcome the deficiency of the first inning.
The opening batsman, Azhar Ali was given out on 11 runs on the ball of Andersen. Haris Sohail could make 8 runs while Asad Shafique made only 5 runs and he was caught behind by wicket keeper Bairstow on the ball of Stuart Broad. The first three wickets were fallen on only 42 runs and after that Imam ul Haq and Usman Salah Uddin developed the partnership of 42 runs and they could reach the total to 84 runs. Then Imam ul Haq was given out at 34 runs on the ball of Dominic Bess. Sarfarz Ahmed made 8 runs, Shadab Khan made 4 runs and Faheem Ashraf scored only 3 runs. The new debutant, Usman Salah Uddin made only 33 runs and he was out on the ball of Bess by the hands of Joe Root. Hasan Ali scored 9 runs while the last batsman, Muhammad Abbas made one run.
When English team started its inning on the third day, it started from 302 runs for 7 wickets and the whole team was out at 363 runs. Faheem Ashraf secured 3 wickets while Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Abbas and Hasan Ali took two wickets each and Shadab Khan took one wicket. Pakistan started its second inning but the opening batsmen could not control the inning and Pakistani team was out at 134 runs for all and Pakistan lost the match by an inning and 55 runs. Butler was declared the man of the match and Muhammad Abbas was declared the man of the series.
